Hotel Renovations & Offsite Meetings

Hotels like to boast about new renovations. There are points to be aware of when contracting for meetings. Has the entire hotel been renovated including guestrooms, meeting space and public areas such as the lobby, restaurants and bars? How recent did the renovations take place? In the contract request “all renovated rooms” especially if the hotel’s guestroom renovations have not been completed. When it comes to meeting space some hotels’ banquet rooms are located on various floors. Be sure the rooms you contract for are all newly renovated. Always add a No Renovation/Construction clause in contracts to avoid noise and dust over the dates of your event. If you don’t ask you could be in for unwanted surprises upon arrival.
